In an interview with CNN on Thursday, Republican candidate Donald Trump launched another spectacular tirade against Islam.
Donald Trump, who famously never repeats himself, said:
I think Islam hates us. There's something there, there's a tremendous hatred there. There's a tremendous hatred, we have to get to the bottom of it. There's an unbelievable hatred of us.
In Islam itself?
You're going to have to figure that out. Ok? You'll get another Pulitzer, right? You're going to have to figure that out. But there's a tremendous hatred and we have to be very vigilant, we have to be very careful and we can't allow people coming into this country who have this hatred of the United States.

Shortly after, Islam turned to Twitter to dispel these allegations:
Islam Sharief told indy100:
I think that Trump's success despite his continuous attacks on minority groups shows the true colours of bigotry and racism in the US. It certainly demonstrates that we still have a lot of work to do despite the progress we've made since the 60s.
We can blame Trump for inciting violence and hatred, but then we'd be using him as the scapegoat.
The truth is there are some Americans who claim to believe in democracy when in reality they simply despise anything that differs from their so-called "American values".
I'm not sure what it'll take to combat Trump's hatred. Some people are trying humour while others attack him with insults.
At this point it seems there is a sense of desperation to stop him. And hopefully we will do.
